the list revisited

do you recall central park in fall, the "ultimate music challenge" and the list that ensued thereafter? well, it's been over a year since i posted the list. times change. tastes change. you rediscover old songs. you fall in love with new ones. so i thought i'd make a new list based on those changes.

as i started the revision project i learned something. i'm pretty sure i'm a purist. an artist can release a whole new album with all winners contained therein, i.e. the everybody album by my lovely lady ingrid, but my favorite ingrid song will always be "breakable" from the boys and girls album because it was the first one i really fell in love with that resulted in me falling in love with her altogether. and then there are just some songs that i will always cherish for sentimental reasons or because it truly is the most beautiful song to be created by a human bean, i.e. "desperado" or "adagio for strings", respectively.

i may make one or two alterations before i crash land on a deserted island with only those 20 songs on my i pod (which would never really happen cause it's a 30 gig), but for the most part the original list must remain as is. i decided i am going to make a new challenge... list the top 20 songs of the year. what songs could you just not get enough of over the last year? the ones with the best memories behind them? this is an all-inclusive list, so time to reveal your guilty pleasures. it is also time for me to shut up aka without further ado i present (in no particular order)...
