how is the utah august treating you all? and since when did august start? time is going by WAY TOO QUICKLY.
on thursday we decided to spend the entire day looking for inactive members. i told h.con before we left, we are going to see lots of miracles today. i just know it. we went to this house, el sauce 1447 looking for jaqueline. a woman walked out while she was talking on the phone. she was crying. she hung up the phone and we asked for jaqueline. she said she didn't live there so we asked if we could help her with something (seeing as she was crying). she said, "no, it's just that i just found out my nephew is going to die. i was just on the phone with my sister. he is 1 year old." we began talking to her about the plan of salvation and testifying that he would go directly to heaven and that she will see him again and be able to live with him forever if she follows the gospel. we sent an appointment to come back and i said, we don't believe in coincidences. your heavenly father loves you. that's why we are here. she said, i know. then we left and were going to the next inactive members house. h. con said, jaqueline lives in 1457, but i could have sworn i read 1447.
there is this investigator in our ward who is catholic and she wants to be a nun. her name is veronica. the missionaries quit teaching her cause they asked her to be baptized and she said, i'm catholic and god knows i'm catholic and i'm going to die catholic, and i know the book of mormon is true. anyway, they quit teaching her because she was being a little creepy with hermana rivero. yesterday she came up to me in church, the first time she ever even acknowledged my existence, and said she needed to get in contact with hermana rivero. that it was urgent and personal. i was like, well you can write her a letter. i can't give you the phone number for the missionaries in san miguel. she said, well i'm just going to have to go to san miguel and talk to her. i thought it was weird but didn't think too much about it until irma, this other member in our ward informed me that veronica plays for the other team and was in love with hermana rivero. ha. that's the first time that happened in the mish.
