captain america for president

med school started yesterday...i don't know that i'm ready to give up my 24/7 brennan time, but ready or not, it's begun.

brennandi saw captain america last week -- if you haven't seen it, watch it!  anyway, between that movie and reading articles about ukraine vs. russia and palestine vs. israel, i've decided we need captain america to become the president of the world.  it is crazy to me that we live in a world where missiles "accidentally" bomb apartment complexes instead of military holdings and you can download an app that warns you when missiles have been detected heading toward your area.  i see only two solutions to these problems: captain america for president or jesus coming.  seeing as one of those is a fictional character, i guess we'll just have to wait until christ comes again, and in the meantime do our best to spread hope through kindness to those around us...and include those not close to us in our thoughts and prayers.

it's been almost two weeks since we arrived in columbus, ohio...here are a few of the fun/crazy things we've experienced so far:

all those fireflies at night.  i love them

very very mild midwest weather.  thank heavens.  it's been amazing going on bike rides by the river seeing all the green and not even breaking a sweat

a car on fire two blocks down from us.  never seen that in real life before

our first sunday here the 3rd block was interrupted by a tornado warning.  everyone gathered in the hallway till the sirens stopped then the bishop sent us all home

last saturday i watched a butterfly come out of its chrysalis and start to spread it's wings.  mother nature is so beautiful

there is a park of roses just a mile or two away from our house
also, along the olentangy river trail there is a park at least every mile.  i could get used to that

brennan received his white coat yesterday and officially became a professional medical student.  and he is in the minority of his class.  it is the 100th class of med students at osu and the first time there are more women than men--it is also the most ethnically diverse group they've ever had.  like i said, brennan being a white, married, male is the very small minority

peace+love
