for those who know me well know i LOVE the outdoors! i have always been the happiest camper which is probably why the bishop called me to be an assistant camp director for my ward...after much preparation we headed up to bear lake monday morning for quite an adventure! on the way through this beautiful canyon my adorable 16-year-old sister decided she needed to pee. so we pulled over so she could go in the bushes...when we got to Minnetonka Cave she went to a real bathroom only to discover a bug bite about the size of a dollar coin--on her butt! (as a result she won the "buggy butt buffet award- for pissing off the biggest bug at bear lake)

at the cave it was about 40 degrees which was quite refreshing...the tour guide seemed extremely thrilled to be leading a bunch of 12-17 year old girls--especially when she turned out the lights at the end to show how dark it was and everyone screamed. and i quote- "please don't scream. it's actually really anoying"...oh man did we get a kick out of that...she had no idea we'd be using that line all week...
my trusty uke
besides waking the girls up in the morning with my uke, i was in charge of water games...which became really easy because mostly they just wanted to do their own thing in the water...the highlight was probably spending wednesday boating...what was supposed to be 5 hours turned to 8 because certain girls (and a leader, i won't name names) were enjoying being beaten about on the tube just a little too much...then of course we had to wakeboard...anyway, malissa mabey and i decided to tube together and we told the bishop (our driver) to show no mercy...i ended up with a black eye and very sore body for the next 2 days...but it was totally worth it...then you compare that abuse with watching the bishop then bro. whiting abuse each other on the tubes and you'd think malissa and i were ametures...but probably the highlight was kerri, camille zesiger and i tubing together...we were going straight cause we were headed back to camp so we decided to stand on the tube...all three of us got up, then kerri decided to push us off...according to my mom, it looked "classic"-if only there was a video camera...
yes, this picture is kerri pushing us off

i was amazed at lexi's roasting skills

besides spending a lot of time in the water we hiked and did geo-cashing, sang around the campfire, cooked most dinners over the fire, and had a luau complete with amazing skits...my mom and i slept on the beach under the stars every night

i'm going to be in so much trouble for posting this picture, but doesn't my mom look so cool? she wore that rattlesnake hat all week and i kept trying to tell her no one was going to take her seriously, but she was convinced it was scaring away all the rodents.

annalise doherty, camille zesiger, amy whiting, me
probably my favorite priesthood leader ever and a great next door neighbor, Bro. Whiting really got his groove on at campfire singing.
lar dog and me looking so good in our matching swim suits--if you look closely you might see the sick tat all the leaders got for boating...he he he
hannah montana and crew plane crashed on treasure island
this is my black eye 3 days after it happened, so just imagine this bigger and darker

Oh Kelli - I was going to be nice and only post cute pictures and cool Kelli stories. You've heard "tit for tat" and I am not talking about the location of tatoos.
Oh I'm way jealous. Kelli Jean we do need to do something this summer. If I can figure out how to use tom's bus pass to get to salt lake will you play with me? I will even request time off work to come play, ok? I miss you much. And I'm excited for the fall!
you forgot to mention my mad ukelele skills. ("i looked out the window and saw... HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. I said, I never want you in my life... so I got out a spoon and ate him, lalalalalaaaaaaaaaa!")
