twenty

This day, March 3rd, 2009, marks the official descent from my teenage years. In exactly six months, I will be leaving the pampered existence that has been my life for nearly the last seven years. It is a day that will be mourned by teens all across the land, and rejoiced by adults in nations over. In six months I will no longer have an excuse for acting like a child. The teen will no longer be a part of the statement of my age, much less a pardon for my actions. I will have to shrug off petty pranks and pillow fights. I will have to speak intelligently and realistically about the future. The dreams of the past 20 years will become the arduous task of creating reality. I will have to leave an era of childish flirting and being dolled upon by young suitors with no committment expected behind. I will be entering a new decade, a new age of responsibility and independence. I will have to become...an adult.

actually, come to think of it, i definitely can wait till 21...isn't that the OFFICIAL age of adulthood?

Honey, if the things you said truly describe adulthood, I'll never make it there. And here I am nearing 30!

Didn't you know, 30 is the new 20...so 20 is the new...well...13. Welcome back to the teens!

In 6 months. ;)
