the real world just ain't that great...
i do not ever want to leave the MTC again until december 20th when i am on my way to CHILE! my comp had to get boots so we had to go to the mall with an escort and it wasn't even fun. but i did hear lenka on the radio in famous footwear which brought back fond memories.
on monday district c left a little whole in my heart when the flew to the santiago east mission. (luckily i'll see them in a couple months they combine all the santiago missions when general authorities come). but then a couple hours after half my mtc family left hermana provost came back! yesterday we got a new district in our zone with 4 hermanas all going to my mission. they're pretty cool. one of them goes to SUU but we didn't know each other- she says she's really anti-social.
this week we are supposed to be getting over our english "addiction". it was really funny at first but then it just got frustrating cause my comp wouldn't talk. ever. so now we have a happy balance of enlish and spanish.
and now...?como se dice awkward?
this story is a bit different in nature. and super embarassing. remember how Bethy said she had to write a 5 minute talk every week in the mtc and on sunday you randomly get called on? ya, we do that too. except for we have to do it in spanish. also, i don't remember if i told you i am the much director in my zone. on sunday i started playing the sacrament hymn and halfway through the first verse i realized there wasn't much singing happening. the words and the music weren't matching up. i looked up at pres. cameron and he was laughing. then after 3 verses i looked at him and mouthed, "that was the wrong song, wasn't it?" he said "yes." so i just sat down and hung my head with my bright red face. then brother mortensen says, "first we will hear from hermana russell...."
i know last week was thanksgiving, but i want to share one of my favorite quotes from thomas s. monson with you:
"the grateful man sees so much in the world to be grateful for, and with him the good outweighs the evil, love overpowers jealousy, and light drives darkness out of his life."
you all drive the darkness out of my life. i love you all.
chao,
formerly vp now pres of the losers club.
p.s.
this might interest you all. on thanksgiving we did a service project. in 3 hours we cut out material for the lds humanitarian place to make 33,400 backpacks for kids who can't afford them!
peace+love
