once upon a time, h. woff and i had to take sicky (HP) to the doctor. as we were sitting in the waiting room we were talking about christ-like attributes and how i needed to work on humility. there was a man in the waiting room who had walked in with his wife speaking spanish. i kept thinking i should talk to him, that it would be great practice for me to speak spanish to someone who doesn't speak spanish and english as well so there's no way around it. well, as we were leaving he was walking down the hall so i said, "hola! de done es?" malo idea. he took off at about 80 mph. so i said "mas despacio por favor". he slowed down for about 2 words then got right back up to 80 mph. pretty much all i got out of our 10 minute conversation was that he's lived in the u.s. for 32 years-first in so. cal to get social security, then provo for the last five years, he has two kids who are married, his wife has diabetes, and i don't actually understand spanish. which is somewhat unfortunate seeing as i'll be there in 11 days.
also, i saw matthew edwards (sarah's brother) at the doc and we had a nice little conversation about life. he busted his ankle or something along those lines in football practice yesterday.
oh, did i mention i'll be on my way to chile in 11 days? i maybe probably could've gotten my travel plans today. these are for mi familia mostly so don't feel obliged to read this part--i need dad's cell phone number and scott's so i can call them from the airport...brooke and kerri will be at mom's, right?
