welp folks, it's down to the wire and i still don't speak spanish.
but ready or not, in one week i'll be waking up in santiago likely with giant cockroaches on my ceiling and fleas in my bed with a companion who doesn't speak english--complete with 90+ degree weather and 100%+ humidity. my first christmas with no snow. oh, did i tell you about the terrorists who came into a chapel in santiago with machine guns while some missionaries were doing a baptismal interview back in 1989? don't worry, they lived. they're missionaries.
i'm seriously so stoked. (no, that is not sarcasm)
on friday night i won a round of knockout. yes, i beat 10 elders in basketball. it's hilarious, they all think i'm way good or something. little do they know...
hermana woffinden got her reassingment this week (she's still waiting on her visa for spain). she's going to billings, montana. i thought she was going to cry when they told her. so i tell her everyday how beautiful it is and make her say "billings, montana is going to be the best mission in the world" everyday.
hermana provost is going home next week. turns out she has sjogruns syndrome--it's an autoimmune disease that attacks her salivary glands. she'll be able to come back out in a few months, but she won't be going to chile anymore, they'll send her stateside so she has access to a rheumotologist.
does anyone know if there is a wendy's in lax?
welp, i love you all--eat lots of mom's homemade toffee for me. thank you for the packages mom, mattie and scott, and hess family. and grandpa, thanks for the moolah! (and brooke, thanks for wrapping them)
