this week was changes. we didn't have changes. but i have a new district leader. remember my favorite district leader from the mtc that i want kerri to marry named elder lewis? he is my district leader now and i still want kerri to marry him.
the highlight of my week-- we were knocking doors and we pass this house with the music blasting. right when we get there the song start "so i'll tell you what i want what i really really want"... there is nothing like spice girls to make a hot day where no one wants to listen to you a little brighter!
i also met some very anti-american muslims. this week. then this adventist guy tried to give us this book about jewish history by chaim potok. it's in english so i may actually go back and take him up on that offer.
so we are teaching this family--beatriz (inactive member) and her daughter cony (investigator, 15). cony's older brother david (20) is also an inactive member but wasn't too interested in anything we had to say. he is punk, with this crazy mohawk-ish hair, all these peircings, and this weird skull tattoo on his arm. when we would go over there he'd have his music blasting and his door wide open with a very naughty word written on it in english. over the last month and a half he's gradually turned the music down, shut the door, come out every once in a while at the end to talk to us, etc... on new years eve we were eating dinner and cony lifted up his sleeve to show us his tattoo and he pushed it down and said, "don't, it's ugly." well this week we were teaching beatriz and cony and david walks in from work with his hair cut like a normal buzz and not a single peircing. wow. it was a drastic change. but i like it. he is a future missionary. so is cony. she's getting baptized soon and she just told us last night she wants to serve a mission. awesome.
wow, this email is abnormally long, kind of like last week. i've told you all enough. i love you so very mucho. have a fabulous week.
love,
kelli jean, hruss.
peace+love
