oh my heck

bethany is lucky the picture i wanted to use that she would have loved won't upload, so you get this picture showing how much we love our other cousin, douglas...i've been thinking about bethy a lot lately, she's definitely one of my favorite cousins in the world and someone i think of as a close friend...heck we even went out with the same boy once upon a time...bethany is hilarious, and i love this story...

the summer before 9th grade, my family and bethany's family went on a cruise to alaska...on royal carribbean they have activities for children to hang out with other people their age...we had a good sized group of 13-15 year olds all in that awkward stage of life where you are so self concious and trying to impress others when really everyone is so concerned about themselves no one really notices your efforts...it's the stage when it's "cool" to swear and rebel from your parents...one night we even found one of the guys in our group smoking a cigar...weird...anyway, the "f" word was frequently used amongst that group...bethany and i, true utahns, say "oh my heck" quite often...everyone in our group thought that was hilarious...by the end of the week we had everyone saying "oh my heck" and using curse words much less frequently...

i think bethany may have even kissed a boy on that cruise...

as a side note, christopher (another cousin) pointed out that on our next cruise together we started the mormon mafia...we hung out with the 8 other mormon kids and had discussion groups at night about chuck norris and other topics of interest...at the end of the week we gave our age group leader a book of mormon...watch out, the wall's may be vacationing near you
