neko and john make a music baby and my future career was born

i am exhausted but classes are OVER. hallelujah. plus this is my favorite fill in the blank friday yet.
1. One song that always
takes me back to my youth is
anything by neil diamond or van morrisson...or just South of the Border. my grandpa used to sing it to me when he'd put me to bed .

2. My first concert ever was i don't know. but the first concert i remember was "Riders in the Sky" at Red Butte Garden. my dad LOVES them. and that is an understatement .

3. If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there: oh that list could go on forEVER. but i will say, i would absolutely die of happiness if John Mayer+Neko Case and Josh Ritter+Brandi Carlile made music babies onstage. .

4. The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is i've only ever made out to one song- "the nearness of you" by norah jones. waaaaaaaaaaaaay sappy, i know. and the boy kinda ruined the song for me .

5. The best concert I've ever been to was baaaaahhhh, too many--Neko Case cause that's where i first heard her and i just am in love with her, Damien Rice the 2nd time i saw him (you want to talk true love?), Josh Ritter- hands down happiest person to be onstage and SO dang cute, Ingrid Michaelson the 1st time i saw her--back when she was poor and could only afford to have ali moss backing her up.
best concert i've never been to: brandi carlile (july 11th, red butte garden!), mumford and sons...please please please please come to utah!
.

6. A memorable musical moment for me was last year in BYU women's chorus we sang this arrangement of "Psalm 23" (the lord is my shepherd) that was so unbelievably beautiful. i cried everytime we performed it except the nights my parents came. i even cried through rehearsal.
also, no one will find this funny except aubry and brooke..."me, my yoke, and i" damien rice concert.
.

7. The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is "Change of Time" from Josh Ritter's album that comes out in a week and a half. if the rest of the album is half as good as this song i will vow celibacy and enter a convent until josh decided to marry me. but actually not cause i wouldn't want him to leave his cute wife .

PS I'm pretty sure that Jill is the one that will find that the funniest. She STILL laughs about it almost every time we hang out. And yes, Brandi at Red Butte this summer and Lilith Fair will probably be two of my favorite concerts to date!

I've never even been to a concert.. and I've only made out with a guy to a song once too, and he ruined that big time!

I checked out your blog last year, but I randomly stumbled upon it again today. I laughed because I made out with a guy my freshman year (wish I could redo that year...) to a Norah Jones song as well! And he totally ruined her music for a while. Anyways, after I met my husband and realized the previous guy wasn't worth changing my likes/dislikes things got a lot happier. :) Hope things are going well! I'm jealous you're out of school...
