familia y amigos!
how is everyone? mom, i don´t know what you´re talking about--lovely weather? ya right. it is so stinking hot. i´d rather be in the negatives than the 90´s. plus i think it feels hotter here cause there is seriously no o-zone layer. the polution is terrible. so the sun is deathly. and we did a LOT of walking this week. funny story. we were teaching Jaime, remember-our investigator with a baptismal date? anyway, we were teaching in the garden of a member´s home and they have three dogs. we were teaching the law of chastity while in the background two of the dogs started, well, you know....i am pretty sure i´m the only one that noticed. i was trying so hard not to laugh. especially cause both those dogs are perros. male. talk about the king of all object lessons.
Hna. King, my mission presidents wife, is the bomb. we had entrivistas this week with the pres and i was talking to her while my comp was in her interview. we were talking about homesickness and the things we miss. i said how much i miss rootbeer. then on friday we had our greenie meeting at the office and guess what she had for me? rootbeer! apparently you can find it at lider every once in a while. steph tagge was right when she said they don´t have rootbeer here and they think it tastes like medicine. which i don´t understand cause they drink pap. and pap is the most cough-syrupy tasting drink i´ve every tasted. oh well, i´ll live.
my spanish is getting better and i´m starting to understand a lot more. i´m starting to feel more comfortable teaching too which is good. we have a baptism date set for german araya for the end of this month. he is going to be the most awesome member cause it has taken him a long time to get here. his wife has been a member since she was 13 and he wanted nothing to do with it. all of their kids were baptized last october and he still wanted nothing to do with it. but just in the last change he quit drinking and when we come over to teach he goes and gets his book of mormon and is the one to initiate everything. the mission president actually wants to meet him so he´s coming to a lesson with us on friday.
ha, funny/sad story. we have this inactive member we´ve been teaching, franco. he´s been doing so awesome and reading preach my gospel. he even helped us with a lesson. we were walking in front of his store the other day and he saw us and started running the other way. so we went to his aunts store to see what was up. she told us earlier that day he was on drugs and broke a bunch of stuff in the kitchen then threw a shoe at her. he needs new friends--his friends are all flaites. lame. so that was a bit of a set back, but we´ll hopefully teach him again this week. anyway this e mail is getting long and boring. i love you all. have an amazing week!
