i can die happy.

thursday i got to see modest mouse for free.
but today....oh today
my life is complete.
brandi carlile has replaced ingrid michaelson as my true love.
that is a BIG deal, my friends.
oh dear with just the uke and the band.
then....looking out. oh man alive. words cannot describe.
during caroline she made eye contact and pointed at me--"you're always on my mind, you're always on my mind my caroline" (ya, i was that close)
beautiful turpentine. oh so amazing live.
at the beginning of the encore the twins came out and sang my 3rd favorite s&g song, (only after homeward bound and america) the sound of silence.
katie herzig took the stage for wish you well. and brandi sang with her. more joy.
and then.
and then.
my life was completed.
pride and joy exactly the way i wanted to hear it only better. i didn't even know what to do with myself and still don't know what to say. so i cried.
sorry you weren't there.
if you ever get the chance--go to her show....hands down the best concert i have ever been to.

oh mandy...

...well you came and you gave without taking...{virtual hug to whoever names that song without googling the lyrics}
this is my friend amanda.
sorry, wrong picture
i didn't know her in real life before i knew her on blogger.
see, she was roommates with mackenzie, my sister from another mister/kerri's (my sister) best friend
[this is mackenzie and amanda]
so kerri was friends with her. kerri had her blog on her sidebar.
and i started reading it.
she is funny and has good taste in music, so of course i read/commented on her blog.
then i met her in real life. so now we're real life friends.
welp, she's feeling kinda sad cause in a few months i'll be leaving and won't be reading any blogs for a year and a half. she thinks she'll no longer have any comments on her blog.
so, i'm suggesting if you like me you should go read/comment on her blog. cause i bet you'll like her too.
do a sunday service and say hi!
i'll be happy you did.

this tornado loves you

this country girl turned indie rocker turned soloist has the most underestimated female voice of our day.
ya, that's a bold statement, but i fully believe it.
i first heard neko case at the twilight concert series in 2008. the only bad part about that concert was there wasn't a bad part. she was amazing. her tone is crystal clear and the lyrics of her original songs are so poetic. and her covers...well, some of them are better than the original. let's face it, i have a major girl crush on neko.

i first fell in love with her to this song

and lastly, get in touch with your country roots
