oh mandy...

...well you came and you gave without taking...{virtual hug to whoever names that song without googling the lyrics}
this is my friend amanda.
sorry, wrong picture
i didn't know her in real life before i knew her on blogger.
see, she was roommates with mackenzie, my sister from another mister/kerri's (my sister) best friend
[this is mackenzie and amanda]
so kerri was friends with her. kerri had her blog on her sidebar.
and i started reading it.
she is funny and has good taste in music, so of course i read/commented on her blog.
then i met her in real life. so now we're real life friends.
welp, she's feeling kinda sad cause in a few months i'll be leaving and won't be reading any blogs for a year and a half. she thinks she'll no longer have any comments on her blog.
so, i'm suggesting if you like me you should go read/comment on her blog. cause i bet you'll like her too.
do a sunday service and say hi!
i'll be happy you did.

cinam yadnom--that's manic monday backwards

-hit the gym for a couple hours (not watch silence of the lambs...scooby doo this time)-
-take my sweet time getting ready, checking e-mails, eating lunch-
-walk to the grocery store (enjoying the perfect 75 degree weather that is gradually turning to thunderstorms)-
-walk to the library-
-walk home...no rush, i've got no place to be-
-chat with friends-
-ice cream sundaes with friends-
-home...blog-
-bed-
life is so funny that way.
on an unrelated note, here's what i've been listening to today. nothing like a corny love song to make your day a little brighter.

well that's new

Kellie, from a blog i stalk, gave me this award. i'm supposed to pass it on to a few other "gorgeous ladies of blogging"--sorry boys, females only.
1. kerri (sorry her blog is private)...she is my little sister and the author of the "world's worst blog". she doesn't think it is worthy of an award, but her posts have never failed to make me laugh.
2. sydney...her posts are inspirational, or funny, or thoughtful. but never boring. and she's not boring in real life either- that is FOR SURE.
3. alexandra...i think that ali and i have similar blogging personalities...that's probably why we're such good friends...(most) posts are short and to-the-point.

hotel cafe tour review

on saturday, kelsey and i drove up her for the hotel cafe tour concert...in short, it was AMAZING! click on this link to find out more about hotel cafe tour http://thehotelcafetour.com/ and click on history...in salt lake they featured ingrid michaelson, cary brothers, meiko, jim bianco, and dan wilson (former lead singer of semisonic)...i hadn't heard of jim bianco before but he was hilarious and amazing! he has a cool, seductive, deep voice, he did a lot with facial expressions and seemed really high strung on stage...this is a picture of us doing a strip tease pose with him...he was extremely entertaining to watch...meiko opened the concert, and i don't think people realized who she was for a little while because she wasn't as well recieved at first...but later in the concert once she played "how lucky we are" i think people started to recognize her...she was so adorable, and definitly wins for best dressed! ingrid was super as usual, and she, ali moss (her guitarist), and meiko sang a round that she recently wrote that was so pretty! she said she'll record it in her next album next year (in the meantime i'm sure somebody filmed it and put it on youtube)...ingrid even pulled out her ukulele! she said "the hat" is written for a boy whose heart she broke which makes me love it even more than i already did! when we talked to her afterward, she remembered kelsey and me from the concert with joshua radin about a month ago! dan wilson is kind of an older guy who has apparently written songs for a lot of people...he wrote "closing time for his newborn baby" - who knew? i recommend reading the lyrics...anyway, he had this incredible hip shaking he would do to the beat while he played...i have a little clip, but i don't know how to upload videos, so you'll just have to take my word for it...cary brothers was pretty good live too, and he gets credit for coming up with the idea of a bunch of artists touring together! he sang "blue eyes" with everyone doing the harmony in the chorus..it was so fun to see them all on stage performing together as well as individually! overall, i highly recommend attendance at the hotel cafe tour next year (plus cary brothers told me imogen heap will be there next year!) also, for new music purchases i recommend: slow the rain - ingrid's album released in 2005...i'm not familiar with any jim bianco albums, but for songs "painkiller", or spice it up with latin rhythm on "handsome devil"!....meiko's self titled album-make sure you listen to "you and onions", a song about a hot dog, and my personal favorite, "under my bed"...enjoy!
