sometimes, i'm really opinionated

remember when i posted on the cove?
most of you probably heard this story in the news this week--you know, where the whale killed a trainer in the middle of a show in shamu stadium...
welp, this is my blog where i get to voice my opinions:
wild animals don't belong in captivity.

rotten runklehouse!

i decided to start my weekend adventures early and skip school on friday...i went to turn in my theory assignment early and asked my awesome teacher if i could take the quiz right then. she asked me how long the assignment took me,
"about 25 minutes"
"then you understand this stuff...full credit on your quiz."
i love dr. stitt.
thursday came round and i drove up to provo to climb with my dear friend cody. it was his first time climbing since he's been home from his mission. i'm out of shape too. we each did 4 routes and decided to go up to the bouldering cave. i topped out a problem and (dumb dumb dumb) decided to drop to the floor. the floor is cushioned to prevent injury. but see, when you have an injury that you were recently able to start functioning on, it can still be a little sensitive. turns out my ankle was not ready for that kind of pressure. looks like i'm out another week.
cody...ah, so young...
last night i had a dream i was bouldering and when i reached the top i carefully climbed to the ground.

as dr. stitt would say,
"ROTTEN RUNKLEHOUSE!"

goodbye quasimodo

the day before thanksgiving, my family had a "pre-holiday party"...aka deep clean the house. i was working at my old job that morning and unable to attend. a day later, i opened our game closet only to find all of our disney vhs' were gone. snow white, sleeping beauty, cinderella, oliver and company, beauty and the beast, even the hunchback of notre dame were all missing! all the classics. when i inquired as to their whereabouts, i was informed my family had taken them all to D.I. when i expressed anger about this dark deed i was told, "that's what you get for not being here to clean."

fast forward (vhs style) to today

i went to D.I. to get some holiday garb for an ugly sweater party tonight. as i walked up to the checkout line, i heard the man in front of me say to the cashier, "yes, these'll give my daughter endless hours of happiness." i looked at the counter to see what he was buying. to my horror, i saw 10 of my old disney movies. as i watched my childhood slip away, bar code by bar code, it was all i could do to keep myself from grabbing the videos and running for the door. my hands were twitching, then i remembered i'm not very quick on my feet right now.
i suppose it is the season of sacrifice.
i just hope that girl appreciates the pot of gold her father is giving her this christmas.

it's gonna be a bright, sunshiney day

i haven't had a bad day in a very long time
wednesday was a no-good-very-bad day. (i find that ironic as it was the only day this week i didn't have rehearsal)
but, things are looking up...
i found a song for my audition on monday
opera rehearsals are over for the week
i fell one class short of meeting my goal to attend all my classes this week (baby steps, next week i'll meet the goal)
i'm going to ace yet another history test tomorrow
and best of all, i will not be going to school on crutches anymore
I'll be climbing again before you know it...very soon. very very soon

what are the sad details of your worst day ever or happy details of the best?

nslpd blue

whatever vendetta that has been placed on me by the NSLPD, despite the many house visits while i lived at home, apparently they did not fulfill whatever goal it is they have...

driving home from a visit to the edward's residence i arrived at a four-way stop. it was late at night and there were no other cars coming, so i stopped for maybe less than a second and proceeded through the stop sign. those cursed flashing lights came on behind me and i pulled over. i didn't have my license with me seeing as i was only going up the street.
i explained why i was there (so mr. edward's could look at my injured foot)...
i explained i was a college student visiting home...
jayne (my passenger) explained i had a perfectly clean record....
still, he felt compelled to give me a ticket

i hope he's happy for giving a safe driving, poor, college, gimp a ninety dollar ticket
